Many real estate buyers mistakenly feel that they are better able to negotiate a real estate transaction on their own without an agent. In a large majority of cases, though, this just is not true. Actually, quite the opposite is the case. Most buyers who have tried going solo regret it. Studies, in fact, illustrate that signing on with a buyer’s agent can pay handsome “dividends” when it comes to your Portland real estate transaction.
It’s definitely a benefit that you don’t pay the buyer’s agent commissions up front — her fee comes out of the seller’s side of the transaction and was no doubt calculated into the asking price of the home. But the most important benefit is that you can save a lot of money on the bottom line when the transaction is finalized.
Contracting with an experienced real estate pro on your side when you’re considering a contract where large sums of money changes hands is simply good idea on its own merit. But add to that the potential boost to your financial position as a result of the expert skills an agent can exercise on your behalf and it should be an easy decision. There are far too many ways to loose your hard-earned cash on a deal not to have someone who negotiates Portland real estate deals on a daily basis to keep the information (and signatures) flowing smoothly.
